Cabanas Los Cabos - Travel Tips and Directions

TRAVEL TIPS

Upon arrival at the San Jose International Airport we recommend that you rent a car since you will be staying outside of town and need transportation. There are many rental car companies located at the airport. Some people like to book their cars online before they arrive, but there are still those folks who wait until they get to the airport, and hope to barter for a better deal. It's up to you, whatever you feel more comfortable with.

For those of you who enjoy your own special blend of coffee, feel free to bring it. Also, if it's a good bottle of wine you enjoy, you are allowed to bring in 3 bottles each. Imported wines are readily available now in the larger grocery stores, and also at our new Costco. During the winter months, the evenings can be cool, so we suggest you bring along a sweatshirt or light jacket and pants.

A small flashlight is always a good item to pack and bring along also. For those of you who have U.S. Cell phone service with AT&T or Verizon, will find that you can use your U.S. cell phones here in Los Cabos.

DIRECTIONS TO SALINA VISTA / LAGUNA HILLS / EL ENCANTO

Upon leaving the airport you’re going to take the new Toll Road, instead of going down the main highway, this will save lots of time and put you in an easier place to find the house, and it’ll put you right at the Mega grocery store in case you want to pick up food on the way out. The casita has a full kitchen.

The sign at the intersection on your way out of the airport will say “Cabo San Lucas” go in that direction, that’s the Toll Road. No stops, no lights, just a 27 pesos toll at the end.

This will take you right out to HWY 1 and the Mega store right across from you. Be careful, busy intersection. You will see it on the map. Go to www.loscabosguide.com and pull up the maps…check out the City & Street Map, and the Los Cabos overview, this will help.

As you can see from the street map, you will head away from Mega and towards the beach on Paseo de los Cabos. You will come right up to the beach….go Left there at the roundabout along the ocean. This is Paseo Malecon San Jose. About 1 mile down, you’ll turn left at the sign, “HISTORICO SAN JOSE” , you can only GO left there. If you pass the Hotel Intercontinental you’ve gone too far, and that’s a dead end.

Back on the Malecon, you’ll go another mile or so and look for the sign to Puerto Los Cabos Marina, on your right….you’ll see the sign for Laguna Hills there too. Keep following the signs all the way to Laguna Hills / El Encanto. It will be about 6 miles totalfrom there to the house. When you finally get down to the beach, turn right, following the new pavement.

You will see the guard gate on your right, going into Laguna Hills. There may be a guard there, just tell him you’re coming to my house, guests of mine. As you pass through the gate, take the 1st Left. Go up the hill, and it’s right after the white house. I’m the 3rd house on your right. Mza 5 Lote 5. Just pull in the driveway and park next to whichever truck is there, and the casita is right there on your left.

I’m pretty sure I’ll be home, but, if not, just let youselves in. I never know my schedule with my job, so go ahead and make yourselves at home, and I’ll see you when I get there.

DIRECTIONS TO ZACATITOS

Follow the directions to the first La Laguna right turn at the last roundabout, go straight instead on the dirt road, signed 'Zacatitos'. This road takes the inland route around the backside of Punta Gorda. Follow it for several miles until you come to the signed right curve to Zacatitos, heading back to the Sea of Cortez. Follow this until it curves around and ends at the 'East Cape Road' at 'Cactus Corner'. Turn right. Drive past the Vantage Realty Palapa and make a left right before the large brown 'Rictor' structure and surf shack. Follow this little dirt road straight until it curves to the left. Then take your first left up a little hill and Jubileo is the third house on the right side. #14
